Recent County Dem Meeting- Great Turnout in Crestone!

Thank you all for a great turnout this month in Crestone! Our volunteer officers were introduced and spoke. We had over 40 people there to discuss community, state and national concerns and ideas as to how to mobilize. We are now going to meet bi-monthly on Zoom, so please look out for the link.

SAGUACHE COUNTY DEMS:
The Saguache County Democrats County Assembly will be held Sunday, March 20, 2022 at the Mountain Valley School 403 Pitkin Avenue, Saguache, CO 81149 in the cafeteria area in Saguache, or via Zoom, Link below.

We will not have a potluck this year for everyone’s health and safety
PLEASE ARRIVE BY 1:00 PM to check-in
2:00 PM – Call to Order

If you cannot attend please send your proxy form (attached) to Lynne Thompson today or bring it with you.

Candidates for U.S. Senate, Congressional District 3, Governor, Senate District 6, House District 62, and County Commissioner District 3, or their surrogates will have an opportunity to speak. Delegates to the District Assemblies and State Assembly will be elected.

Hopefully Governor Polis will Zoom in at 4:30, so please come!

Delegates at the County Assembly will determine which County Commissioner candidates going through the caucus/assembly process will be on the Ballot.
Those eligible to vote at the County Assembly are delegates (or Alternates if Delegates do not attend) elected at Caucuses.

The Assembly is open to the public. All are welcome!

Announcement- Save the Date! The 2022 Saguache County Democratic Party Caucuses March 5, 3pm at the Moffat Consolidated School
Hello! Much has happened since the 2020 Caucuses, so this year’s Caucus format will be different than in the past. If you’re a registered Democrat, we need and want your participation!
Up for re-election in 2022 are Gov. Jared Polis, Sen. Michael Bennet, Congressional District 3, and a host of state and local candidates. Your involvement in important.
Caucuses will be held at 3pm on March 5th at the Moffat Consolidated School. To get more information click here or on the link below (or copy and paste the link to your browser). You will be directed to a registration form. Once you complete the form you will receive the Caucus information packet. If you are a confidential voter, or if you want to attend the meeting as an unregistered observer, use the email option and state that you are a confidential voter or an observer. Or, you can just show up and register at the door, but pre-registration will save time

Colorado Dems Statement on the Inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris

Denver, CO – The Colorado Democratic Party released the following statement after President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris were sworn in as President and Vice President respectively:

Morgan Carroll, Chair of the Colorado Democratic Party:

“Today our Constitution and democratic institutions have prevailed as we witnessed the historic swearing-in of the 46th President of the United States and our nation’s Madam Vice President. Today, I watched with pride and patriotism as Joe Biden and Kamala Harris took the sacred oaths to lead our country, and I stand optimistic for the promise of tomorrow as President Biden and Vice President Harris step up to tackle the many challenges we face.”

“It is morning again in our great nation, and I look forward to watching the Democratic members of Colorado’s Congressional delegation work with the Biden Administration to lead us past the pandemic, rebuild our economy, and to heal the soul of our nation.”

New Officers Elected!

Election of New Officers to the Saguache County Democratic Party!

Charles Tidd was elected by unanimous vote to Chair.

Randy Arredondo was elected by unanimous vote to Vice Chair.

Dawn Boiani was elected by unanimous vote to Secretary.

Bill McClure was elected by unanimous vote to Treasurer.

As it has in the past, the Central Committee will form the Vacancy Committee.
